The most common misfuel. Petrol acts as a solvent in a diesel engine, stripping lubrication from the high-pressure fuel pump. Do NOT start the engine — call us immediately for a full drain and flush.
Less common but still damaging. Diesel will not ignite in a petrol engine but can foul the spark plugs and catalytic converter. If the engine has not been started, a drain and flush is usually sufficient.
AdBlue is a urea solution used in diesel exhaust systems. If accidentally added to the fuel tank, it can cause severe and expensive damage. Do NOT start the engine. Call us immediately.
Adding petrol or diesel to the AdBlue tank can damage the SCR system. The AdBlue tank is usually a separate, smaller filler. If you are unsure, call us before starting the engine.
